Wie ihr sicher wisst bin ich ja eine eifrige Fahrradfahrerin und auch aktiv in Organisationen, wo wir für sichere Fahrradwege kämpfen. Die Chefin in dieser Sache ist Maggie Ardito, die unglaublich viel arbeitet und wirklich die offiziellen Leute anspricht und zusammenbringt. Sie arbeitet von morgens 5 Uhr bis zum späten Abend.

Heute habe ich plötzlich die Ankündigung des Lyonia Wildlife Festivals gelesen und dachte, das wäre doch ideal, wenn wir dort mitmachen. Maggie hat sicher keine Zeit, dabei zu sein, aber ich mache so etwas auch allein. Also habe ich die Organisatorin angeschrieben. Und eben kommt von Maggie eine Email, mit der sie meine Bitte unterstützt und mich so richtig lobt. Bin ganz gebügelt und freue mich sehr. Deshalb stelle ich den Text mal hier rein.

Dear Ms. Klocke,

We would be pleased to have our colleague and Trails Alliance Friend Edith represent our organization at the Lyonia Wildlife festival.  Thank you for this opportunity to raise awareness for Volusia’s world-class trails, St Johns River-to-Sea Loop Alliance trail, and Volusia’s only trail advocacy nonprofit, active, equitable transportation in Volusia, and Edith’s excellent books that provide the best information about Central Florida Tails.

We were invited to participate in the Lyonia Wildlife festival but because we had conflicts and resource limitations, we felt we were unable to participate. If Edith can be present for the Wildlife Festival, we would be very happy to have a booth. We would like to provide material about our organization, Volusia Trails and active, equitable transportation as well as Edith’s excellent and informative books about Central Florida Trails.  As Edith says, we are a small organization with limited resources and no staff, so we would appreciate this opportunity to let people know about our trails, our organization and Edith’s unique books.

We will be presenting information about our organization, our projects and our environmental advocacy at the Nature at Night Event on March 16, so I have copied Melissa Hughes.
